As a Hospitality and Tourism Management student, it is required to complete a 400 hour paid internship for course credit. My internship search was stressful but I ended up landing one 15 minutes from my hometown! I began my internship on May 30th and so far my experience has been awesome. I hold the position of Assistant Manager of Food and Beverage at the Terrace Room in New Buffalo, Michigan and have rotated through three different areas thus far. Starting off I worked in banquets. Next I hosted, and finally I went through manager training. After testing the waters in each area, I concluded that working in banquets has been my favorite. I enjoyed setting up events and watching them come to life while pleasing the customer. I am about halfway through my internship already and cannot wait to see what the other half has in store!
