This Summer I have been on campus working as the student intern for the Purdue Think Summer Committee. The Think Summer Initiative was established by President Daniels this year in an effort to encourage more students to take summer classes and help students to graduate on time. Throughout the academic year, I serve as the Vice President of Personnel for the Purdue Student Union Board, so my experience in programming and event planning led to me to working with Think Summer. I am leading a group of about 10 other students and we plan, market, and put on tons of free events for students throughout the summer. Our events have included free concerts, movies in Fowler Hall, movies on Slayter Hill, bus trips to Chicago and the Indiana Dunes and more. This picture is of our Noon On Tuesday event–every Tuesday at Noon we are on the Union Front Lawn with free food and crafts for students! It has been a hectic summer as we put on about 5 events each week, but it has been equally fun! I am looking forward to all my friends returning to campus and for classes to start!
