The summer has absolutely flown by! My mother and I just got home a week ago from visiting my brother, sister-in-law, and two nieces in New Mexico, and it was a great trip! My oldest niece, Keelia, is 15 months old, and my youngest niece, Khloe, is only 7 weeks old. It was the first time I got to meet the newest addition to our family, and it was love at first sight.
My brother, who is in the air force, got to race in his own race car for the first time while I was there. That was super exciting for me and my family because our dad, who passed when I was 13, was a race car driver. I spent the first 10 years of my life at many different racetracks, so being back at one and seeing my brother in my dad’s suit was like being right at home! It was so cool to see my brother continue what my mom and dad had started, and I was so thankful I got to be there for such a big time in his life. My family and I had such a great time and I look forward to my next trip out there!
Until then, I will keep working at my job at The Country Club of Indianapolis, taking care of the new Beagle puppy I surprised my mom with for her birthday, and soon head back to my second home: Purdue. I look forward to the adventures and new knowledge this year is sure to bring, and can’t wait to get it all started just here in a few weeks! I’ll be kicking off the school year as a BGR (Boiler Gold Rush) team leader, and I am beyond excited to make so many new friends! This year will most definitely be a great one, I can already tell!
