National Food Day

Warren Township KidsOctober 24 was National Food Day! In honor of the day, a group of Purdue Nutrition Science students and myself went to 9 elementary schools in Warren Township to talk to the kids. Our topic was about whole grains. We had the educational poster, National Food Day Postersome activities for the kids to do, and we even made whole grain trail mix! It was such a fun day working with students from first to fourth grade! I encourage you to go to www.foodday.org and learn more about Food Day!  As a dietetics student, this is what I am passionate about. I want to make a difference in my community so teaching children about the benefits of healthy foods is right up my alley.
