This month with my club, the Restaurant & Food Service Association, we hosted a bake sale for a breast cancer research charity event. Club members baked and packaged fudge brownies and pumpkin snicker-doodles to be sold at $1 each. We also learned interesting facts, one of which is that breast cancer affects about 2,190 men a year, although widely known in women. For our first year, and having only two weeks to plan this event, I am very pleased that we raised nearly $100 towards breast cancer research. We have already started planning for next year which will hopefully be bigger and better!
