I love the fall semester at Purdue. One of the things I look forward to most is Purdue University Dance Marathon (PUDM). PUDM is the biggest philanthropic organization on campus and something everyone should consider joining. Over 2,000 boilermakers came together to raise money for Riley Hospital for Children by fundraising for almost a year and then ending it with an 18 hour dance marathon where they announced our grand total. This year we had a huge goal of $1,000,000. We called it the MDMS (Million Dollar Mindset). This was a huge jump for us because last year we raised a little over $528,000. The 18 hours take a total on your feet and legs, but throughout the marathon we heard inspirational stories from Riley families about the great work Riley does. This kept everyone pushing through the 18 hours. At the end of the marathon they announced our total of $1,000,471.03. Seeing that number was one of my favorite boilermaker experiences and I will never forget that moment.
