My family and I made the most of our winter break by visiting Turkey Run, a state park about 50 miles south of Purdue (http://www.turkeyrunstatepark.com/). We met my husband’s parents there and stayed at one of the cabins in the park, something which in my last 3 years in Indiana has become a new winter tradition. We ended up having great conditions for hiking: it was clear, not as cold as it has been in recent weeks, and the snow had melted enough that the trails were easily passable. It is a beautiful place with really unique geography and natural features, and I love going there at different times during the year and seeing the changing seasons. This past visit was such a nice weekend getaway, I feel like I’m beginning spring semester on a pretty high note.
