Last Undergraduate Rivalry Game

Purdue gameThis past weekend was probably the biggest basketball game our team will be facing this year: the rivalry game against Indiana University. This is my fourth and final year being in the Paint Crew at Mackey Arena , and it certainly will be one of my most cherished memories of college. The entire game I was just reminiscing on having to camp outside in October to even get into the student section my freshman year. With the new renovation of Mackey, every student with a VIP sports ticket gets to be part of the Paint Crew, sans sleeping on the sidewalk! I’ve spent a few nights over the years sleeping in a tent outside of Mackey for prime seats for games.

For this past game, I didn’t do anything drastic to score good seats, but the game was so riveting, sitting in one of the top most rows was probably just as exciting as the front row. A win for Purdue in general is exciting. A win against IU? It’s exhilarating! There’s nothing like the roar of the crowd in Mackey to knock out those winter blues and pump in major school spirit. Now onto mid-terms and starting job applications!
