Hello New Boilermakers! Welcome to Purdue! I know you have a ton of information coming at you, and you’re trying to balance a million new things. Here are a few short ideas to help start off the year right.
1. Be the first person to say hi. Everyone is new and nervous. If you say hello first you’ll automatically set people at ease and be on your way to making great friends!
2. Arrive to class early- at least your first week. You’ll get a good seat, for lab classes you’ll be able to pick your partner, and you’ll learn how long it actually takes to get somewhere so you know between which classes you can risk stopping by the union to grab a bite to eat.
3. Ask questions! Ask you professor if you don’t understand something, ask your advisor for advice, ask all the wonderful people in HHS about the different resources and opportunities available to you!
If you have any other questions or want advice on anything in particular, ask me (firstname.lastname@example.org), or anyone else in HHS! We can’t wait to watch you succeed!
